How can I improve my sales technique?

I'm very good at what I do (copywriting) and pretty good at getting in to see people to present my work. Potential clients make all the right noises, but I really struggle to 'close the sale'.
Can anyone recommend any training courses that would be convenient (I'm in Hertfordshire) or books I should read?
